THE SPANTECH LONGREACH DIFFERENCE

LONGREACH WAS DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE AND EFFICIENCY, PUTTING IT IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN

Profile shape

The rollformed shape of the Spantech Longreach includes subtle curved details. This provides additional strength and minimises rollforming stress on the material coating to ensure a long life.

The curves in the base of the profile reflect the shape of traditional CustomOrb® so the Spantech Longreach integrates with a range of readily available roofing accessories and complimentary profiles such as CustomOrb® and MiniOrb® .

Less fasteners

Spantech Longreach profiles are connected to each other via a unique interlocking seam. It securely connects the profiles together without fasteners. The connection is strong, watertight and requires no penetrations in the profile. Similar systems require roofing screws at 500mm centres which can cause leaks, corrosion, and expansion/contraction noise.

Additional benefits of minimising fasteners:

  • Spantech Longreach is faster to install, making it more cost effective

  • There are less penetrations in the roof reducing the risk of leaks

  • During installation minimal swarf is generated, the by-product of drilling into metal that can damage the material finish.

Watertight connections

Spantech Longreach is connected to structural supports through a flat zone in the profile ‘rib’ to ensure a watertight seal. This is very important for long-span profiles with significant expansion and contraction. Similar profiles are secured through a corrugated zone of the profile rib, so fasteners are typically either overtightened - affecting expansion and contraction, or under tightened - causing leaks.

Design resources

Spantech has an extensive collection of pre-engineered standard details to suit most common applications.

However, if you need a project-specific solution, Spantech has an in-house design team to help our clients realise their vision and develop bespoke solutions that suits the project and the budget.

This service is free to registered Architects, Engineers and industry professionals.

Engineering service

Spantech includes an engineering design and certification of our products in all our quotes.

We also offer engineering guidance at each stage of design. This assures Architects that their design can be achieved with issues resolved early in the design phase to avoid delays and unnecessary costs.

Value for money

Spantech’s package price includes roof Engineering service (as described above), all equipment and transport, on-site or off-site manufacturing (as applicable), all accessories and fasteners.

We provide this comprehensive and transparent package to remove all hidden costs. It ensures that the Builder, Roofing Contractor and Client do not receive any unplanned variations.

The value in our approach is evidenced by the significant number of projects Spantech is being awarded through competitive tenders, where the Spantech Longreach profile is proving to be extremely cost effective.

Installation

Spantech can install the products we supply, with our crews regularly working all over New Zealand and Australia.

Alternatively, Spantech can train and work with your preferred local Roofing Contractor to install our systems. If you do not already have a preferred contractor, we can recommend a local contractor who is trained and experienced with our systems.

Warranty

Spantech uses steel and aluminium specifically manufactured and imported for Spantech. It is guaranteed to meet New Zealand Standards and Spantech’s own stringent specifications.

As a result, Spantech can generally offer longer warranty periods and more favourable conditions to our Clients. The warranty Spantech provides is supported directly by the manufacturer.

What’s in a Name?

The “Longreach” name was inspired by the Emu Street Car Park, Longreach, Queensland.

Designed by architect Chris Pritchett for the Longreach Regional Council, at the time, this was the only undercover public carpark in Longreach.
